Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls!

Today I met up with my friend, Josh Platko, to go to Splash Gardens in Dorbrook Park. As a refresher for you all, Josh and I became reacquainted at the Redbank Kaboom Fireworks last weekend. Our parents were talking and they shared a little secret about this awesome place called Splash Gardens that is FREE!

We started the morning with breakfast at a nearby Perkins where Josh discovered a love for raisins (I shared mine with him) and blueberries. Or should I say, he likes to wear blueberries. His white shirt was covered! We then headed to this water park that I kept hearing about all week. As my Great Uncle Roger advises, I applied massive amounts of sunscreen and headed on in. There it stood with all it's glory - fountains and water tables and buckets - oh my! They have an area for little ones just like me and big guys I aspire to be. Although Josh and I took swimming lessons together, he's a couple of months older than I am and much more familiar with the water than me. He loves to stick his mouth over the water fountain and I just laughed at him. Plus, Josh is walking all over the place so he lead us over to the big kids area where we played with the water table. Being the nice kid Josh is he filled me in on a little tip - stay away from the waterfalls! On the big kids side of the park there is a feature where big buckets fill up with water and get so heavy they tip over. If you are not paying attention, us little guys can get washed away. Josh has experience with this as he got caught in a tsunami a few weeks ago. I believe the saying goes, "live and learn, and pass it on." Josh is proving to be a good friend and vital asset at water parks.

We ended the day on the lawn taking in the beautiful Sunday afternoon. Both Josh and I were exhausted to only head home and sleep for several hours. I can't wait until next weekend to play at Spray Gardens with Josh!

  1. They had such a blast that day (so did we)! These two are going to make quite a team one day.
