Sick Day

I am home sick today from school with a double ear infection. Although Dad said if I do not seem sick, school said I could not come until Thursday. I have a 102 temperature and we went to the Dr. yesterday who looked in my ears and told me what was wrong. I am on Amoxicillin 2 X per day and my parents say it tastes like bubble gum. I hope to be better for my visitors this weekend.

Since I have not blogged since I was bitten let me fill you in on life. The bitter girl still eyes me down so I stay far away from her...my mom said we have a restraining order against her.

I went Christmas shopping the first weekend of December with my parents as well as visiting my friend Penelope. My mom and her mom used to work together and my dad and her dad have the same name; it was weird. Penelope slept the whole time I was there so she was not very exciting. But the two dogs sure did like me.

Aunt Casey and Uncle Scott came to visit on Sunday. It was good to see them even though Uncle Scott still would not hold me…..poo on him.

Last week school was school, nothing to new there. Friday, I went to see my neighbor Jeannie and James with Mom and Dad. James is going to be a lot of fun to play with this summer. I liked their Christmas tree because the lights blinked...my Christmas tree lights do not.

Saturday, we celebrated Christmas early with Aunt Joy and my cousin Ellen. Uncle Chad was sick so he did not come. We had a good time opening Christmas presents and playing. I got a new toy that allows me to stand up and play a piano from Ellen. The day went by fast and that night we went shopping again for more Christmas stuff and food.

Sunday, Dad and I watched the Vikings play. It was a relaxing day trying to get the house ready for Uncle Todd, Aunt Barb and my cousin Anna who are coming the 19th to visit. That Sunday my Uncle Jeremy Thad is coming with his girlfriend Kim and her daughter Kianna.

I do not know all the details yet of what we are going to do but it will be busy I am sure of that.

Last but not least, I can hardly wait for Santa to come down that Chimney. Hopefully he's not as scary looking as the one in the mall that I took a picture with; then again I won't be seeing him as i'll be fast asleep (or so my parents are hoping) :)

Twice Bitten, Thrice Shy!

I am a victim! Today I received my first official noted/reported injury at daycare. Some young waddler, Josie, was sitting at the table next to me waiting for a teacher to bring him food. I know i'm cute and all but I didn't think I looked as good as food. Of course I was taken a back and cried a bit; who wouldn't! Although the skin wasn't broken and there is a mark...i'm scarred for life! I warned the kid that if it was to ever happen again he would be sued by my mommy!

Not even two hours later I was minding my own business and out of no where Josie struck again; this time it was my temple. They warned my mommy and daddy that once a kid bites once they continue to target the same kid. I guess this is true. Needless to say I came home with a pretty good war wound. I'm recovering nicely and should not have any permanent injuries, but she's not allowed anywhere near me!

Getting Ready for Turkey

So today I went for my 4 month check-up...what a treat - 3 vaccines and i'm still alive!

As for Turkey Day, I will be spending it amongst some the best people I have yet to meet...my mommy's family! I can't wait to play with my cousins! I'll be eating cearel while others will be eating turkey. You heard it hear - the Dr gave me the green light for veggies and fruits in two weeks. Let the countdown begin!

While we're in South Dakota i'll be taking pictures with my cousins, making lefsa with my Great Grandma J, and exploring the country. As this is my first Black Friday I may do some shopping since i'll be up anyway; need to get those early deals in this economy! I also have lunch plans with my second cousin, Allison.

Happy T-Day!

My First Turkey Day

Wednesday night we left for my first turkey day which was spent in Sioux Falls, SD. After being told numerous times at the Newark airport by old women how cute I was, my mom thinks I'm bound and determined to have a suger momma. She keeps telling me that I need to aim for a younger woman, at least one that doesn't have dentures and wears depends. Although I find some comfort in a woman who has no teeth like me, I think my mom is right and I'll stick to the younger chicks that haven't lost any teeth yet.

The flight itself was good as I slept most of the way, however stepping off the plane in Minnesota for our layover made me really happy that I live by the beach...it was FREEZING! After warming up with a nice stroll through MSP airport, I was finally able to meet Mike and Amy who were really nice. Plus, they're Viking fans (like dad and me). We took some pictures, mom and dad had dinner...actually mom had dinner standing up since I had no interest in sitting around watching the four of them eat. Afterwards, it was back through security to catch our 10:45 pm flight. I slept through this plane ride also and mom got me up again... Hello, do people not realize that this is my bed time??!!

After getting off the plane again in some cold Antarctic land, Aunt Lori was at the airport waiting for us. This was a very small airport that took no time to get our bags. Then I got bundled up, placed in a strange carseat that I was not fond of because it was not mine!! After a ride down a dirt road we wound up at Aunt Lori’s house. Needless to say, I was exhausted and fell right into bed, to only wake my parents up at 3:30 as all that traveling made me hungry; you may recall I didn't eat dinner with my parents.

The next day we work up and I met my cousins Danny and Bryce, and my Uncle Mike. Danny is 3 and runs all over the place. Bryce is a big boy; he is the same age as my cousin Ellen but about twice her size. But then again I am pretty big too (more to come on that in my posting on the weekend in general). Danny is really nice, he talked and played with me. Bryce is very quiet except when he gets mad. Sometimes he did not like sharing with me, especially his high chair. After hanging out with the Bangasser's, we left for Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Kappenman. We drove to Uncle Todd and Aunt Barb’s and surprised my cousin Anna who is 9. When mommy, daddy and I walked in she turned and looked at us in utter shock!! She was very excited to see us!! Anna is also very nice. We played, ate and celebrated in true T-day fashion. Although I wasn't able to eat any turkey, all that turkey around me made me fall asleep in my high chair.

That night, we went back to Aunt Lori's and had dinner...again! Mommy ate way too much! Daddy said he can never eat too much. At Aunt Lori’s I got to meet Great Grandma and Grandpa Johnsrud and my namesake - my uncle Jeremy Thad. The picture of the week is with my Uncle Jeremy. I loved staring at him and his hairline, wondering whether I'll be bald for the rest of my life! I've been told at one time he had more hair; i'm hopeful. Great Grandma is a really good rocker; she does it every week at the hospital for little babies in the NICU. I enjoyed sitting with my Great Grandma and rocking it out. I was very tuckered by the end of the day. All in all, it was a good turkey day, but I have to say I can't wait until next year when I can actually eat the turkey!

It's all about the pictures baby!

Friday night was spent at home with the parental units. For some reason they were extra tired from staying up at night last week?

Saturday brought a day of running errands and dinner with my friends Louis and Katrina in Princeton at mommy's and daddy's favorite mexican place. I spent the first part of dinner sleeping but woke up just in time...when the food was arriving. There was no way I was staying in that car seat; I wanted to sit up and look around at my surroundings.

Sunday was picture day! As we waited for Picture People to open I thought it best to have an early lunch; the parents didn't think this was such a great idea as I have been having a hard time keeping my food down. They were worried I was going to mess up my outfit. So I was fed in intervals. This nice lady kept saying "peek-a-boo" and making funny noises, but I was too busy thinking about food. I smiled occasionally (when I thought of food) but not as much as I would have if I got to finish my whole bottle in one setting. But needless to say, those people raising me know me too well, I got my shirt dirty. Thank goodness I had an outfit change. After I finished at Picture People, it was on to the man in the red suit with a white beard. He was nice and plump...good padding to lean up against in my pictures. By this point I was getting pretty tired and if I wasn't really smiling before, I sure wasn't going to smile then. So I sat back and watched all these people jump up and down, squeak toys and talk stupid, all in an attempt to get me to smile. Eventually I gave in, gave a few big smiles but the woman who was taking my picture seemed to miss it every time...may I suggest a job change - probably not in this economy.

As I'm more advanced than your average 3 1/2 month old with my website, I thought I would post the link so you can view my professional modeling debut:

I think Sunday may have just been the best day of my life thus far...I finally figured out what my mouth is all about. In addition to screaming at the top of my lungs, and gulping milk down, I can now eat real food. After noticing my attempts to eat anything my parents put in their mouths, they decided it was time to try rice cearel on a spoon. I was all about the spoon sholving food in my mouth - best invention ever! Stayed tuned for more updates on what the spoon brings!

Great Grandma Basner

I met Great Grandma Basner today for the first time. Wow does she make me feel young! She travelled all the way from Boston to see me. She was there when I really chuckled for the first time.

On Saturday we travelled to South Jersey for my cousin Ellen's first birthday. There were lots of people, cake and tons of presents. Ellen got an Elmo Live which I found interesting as I didn't quite know what to make of him. However, my parents, especially my mom, laughed and laughed at Elmo...I may get one for Christmas or should I say my mom may get one! Another funny thing that happened is that Josie, one of Ellen's friends, ate her birthday candle - how weird is that. They told her to lick the icing off of it and she took it one step further. Uncle Chad thought that Ellen's best present was a box of Pampers...I have a great idea in mind for Christmas for Uncle Chad, Depends.

Sunday I watched the Vikings beat the Packers in my Vikes outfit...it was great to see the Cheeseheads lose! The Vikings are officially one game up on the Packs!

I voted for Change!!

Today is my first official Election Day of my life. I was so excited when I woke up and mommy told me that I would get to go vote with her. So off we went to the voting booth. The booth official tried to stop me from entering but mommy said not to worry, I would be voting by proxy.

So we entered the booth and I told mommy to vote OBAMA. She happily cast my ballot for change. Hopefully tomorrow I will wake up and look forward to January when a Democratic will be sworn into office.

Monkey See...Monkey Do

After a weekend of trick or treating and going to my first Halloween party, today is Mommy's Birthday!! Happy Birthday Mommy!!

Friday, after participating in my first Halloween parade at day care, I came home and went trick-or-treating with Jeannie and James, our neighbors. We had fun and got lots of Candy. I even got a stuffed animal from one person and $2.00 from another. That night we want to Aunt Casey and Uncle Scott's to celebrate Aunt Casey's birthday. I've attached a picture so you can see what a cute monkey I was!

Saturday, after visiting Aunt Kate and Uncle Andy Ro in the afternoon, we went back that night for a Hall-Ro-ween Party. It was lots of older people, but I learned to play beer pong and flip cup!!! Everyone at the party said I was sooo cute and really liked me. The best part was no one laughed at me when I puked, they laughed at this other guy who puked first!!!

Sunday, we did some shopping and spent they day with Mommy for her birthday!! She said I was a great birthday present. My present to her was a sleepless night :)

Deep in the Heart of Texas

So after my first plane ride I arrived in Dallas, TX. I got to see Aunt Jessilyn and Uncle Nolan. I met my Grandpa Kappenman for the first time. Dallas was nice; I got to spend lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa K, while Mom and Dad were participating in the wedding.

I really enjoyed my trip and can not wait to see everyone again.

Good Morning Baltimore!

My first road trip, what an experience! Dad, Mom and I got up Saturday and got in the car and drove, and drove and drove. We finally wound up in some place called Baltimore. I really do not know how we got there since I slept the whole trip. However, when we arrived I had the best experience ever. I know my life has not been that long but after a short walk which felt like we were at the beach (boardwalks and the ocean) I discovered the largest bubble machine ever!!! As some of you know I love bubbles. I watched them go up, up and away!!

This place of bubbles was the aquarium, the National Aquarium in Baltimore. It was great! There were these things called fish, sharks, dolphins and even frogs. I was not scared of the Sharks; in fact I fell asleep looking at those guys.

After the Aquarium and a short walk we went to lunch with Mommy's friend April. At the time I was not hungry so decided to be fussy. After going to some place called a hotel, Mom and Dad got me dressed up in this suit thing and we went to a wedding. I made mommy and daddy late but it was ok because they did not miss too much. The wedding was just like any other wedding according to Mom and Dad but all I know is when the Cantor started to sing, I HATED IT!!

I slept during most of the reception but everyone kept interrupting my sleep by telling me how cute I was. Hello people, can’t you see I am trying to sleep here. After a late night of partying I passed out in my suit in the car seat until the next morning when we drove home. I was still so exhausted I slept all the way back home too.

Now I have never been to a wedding but these people getting married were not like mommy and daddy, but it was like daddy and... another daddy. Mom said it was a Civil Commitment, aka Gay wedding. I do not know what the difference between a Gay wedding and a normal wedding is, but it was something new to me and mommy and daddy I guess too!

D Day has come!

Today I started daycare. Mommy dropped me off at 8:00 and put me in my jail cell a/k/a crib. Its so deep i'll never be able to climb out. After I woke up from my nap I tricked the ladies into to thinking I was hungry a whole hour and half early. Afterwards I played and played some more. There are so many things and people to look at. There's this one little girl that eats everything, including me. She tried to keep eating my feet...weirdo! Overall the day was good.

I found my patch!

It was great spending another week with my dad. The world as I know it ends Weds. as I begin daycare.

I had a busy weekend. Saturday we went and bottled wine. Mommy and daddy said the best part was that I did not Wine at all. We tried to go pumpkin picking but mommy, daddy and John decided not to take me. Instead we decided to get cider and donuts at Delious Orchards. That night my friend Rebecca and her parents, Joy and Neil, came over. Rebecca really enjoyed my Bumbo.

Sunday was filled with errands and football before going to pick pumpkins. We went on a hayride, got lost in a Corn Maze and found me a Pumpkin. Mommy and daddy talked about going to this Oktoberfest thing but decided against it because they said I may not behave. Instead, we went to see my new friend Penelope's parents. She still isn't home from the hospital because she's sick, but getting better and should be coming home on Wednesday.

Mommy's last day of work was Friday. I'll spend Monday and Tuesday with her before she starts her new job on Wednesday. I start my new job on Weds. - driving all the girls crazy at school!

I wine

Today my parents introduced to the world of Wine. They told me this is not the kind of wine that I do with my binky in, but a different kind, one that you drink. So I was looking very forward to figuring this all out. It was overcast all the way down to the wine festival, but the minute we got there the sun came out and it was so nice. We hit the booths and the compliments just started coming...from win-o's! I kept hearing how cute I was; of course it didn't help that my mom dressed me in this pumpkin hat that everyone just adored. For pete's sake woman, I don't need a hat to look cute...good looks just come natural to me! After touring the booths for a little while, I enjoyed the sunshine and slept.

A week with Grandma & Grandpa B

Mommy and daddy both went to work this week but Grandma and Grandpa B took care of me. We had a good week; Grandpa took me for a walk every day and even changed my dipper one day. Grandma fed me and burped me and talked and talked and talked to me. That lady can talk. I did very good this week, but am so excited to spend this next week with daddy.

Growing like a weed

I went to see the Dr. today...boy that was fun! I really hate when they put that thing in my ears. I loved the nurse, she weighed and measured me. Its official, I have the Kappenman genes, I grew 3 inches in a month to make me 2 ft. tall! I weigh 12.7 lbs and my head is 39". After the nurse left I was all giggles and coos. But of course the Dr. took too long so by the time she got there I was not a happy camper. She stuck this thing in my mouth called the Rotavirus vaccine - it was so yummy. Only to be followed by two pricks and a whole lot of screaming. Needless to say, I was really happy when that woman left the room. I overheard my mom say I have to go back in two weeks for another shot...not if I have anything to say about it!

A Saturday to Sleep

Today was a very busy day. We left the house at 10:00 am and droped daddy off to help Uncle Scott. Mommy and I went to the mall and then came back to see Uncle Scott and Andrea, mommy and daddy's friend. Uncle Scott plays really loud music, but the lights were cool.

We left before the party got started but I got to go to Babies R' Us. Mommy and daddy were hungry so we went to the Beach for lunch. I went to sleep on the car ride there and did not wake up until I was hungry. Mommy was feeding me and everyone kept saying how cute I was. I just smiled and said "I know." After lunch I went back to sleep and mommy and daddy walked the boardwalk. I don't know what it is about the beach, but the ocean air just puts me to sleep.

It's the end of the World as I know it...

Today mommy told me this was our last day alone together; I cried and cried until she said she was just going back to work. I was still really sad. Mommy explained that daddy was going to stay home with me next week and then Grandma and Grandpa B were going to come for a week. I got very excited after mom said dad was going to be with me again the week after.

Mommy told me I was going to start going to school on October 15th. I hope that doesn't come too soon. I'm enjoying not being on a schedule!

Just the two of us

Mommy woke me up this morning at 4:30 to go for a car ride (just kidding I was awake). Daddy and I took Mommy to a place called an airport. I just went back to sleep in the car but when we stopped Mommy was sitting next to me. She said goodbye but she was to be back tomorrow.

After we got home, Daddy and me went back to sleep. It was just Dad and I all day; we watched football and drank alot of milk - it was great!! Aunt Casey and Uncle Scott had us over for dinner. Bodey, Aunt Casey's Dog, loves me sooo much he just wants to kiss me.

After we got home we watched more football. Daddy put on my Ohio State outfit that Aunt Kate and Uncle Andy got me. I tried to watch the game but Uncle Andy's team forget to show up so I went to sleep.

Sunday brought more football and then in the middle of the Vikings game daddy said we had to pause the game and get mommy. So off to the airport again and we picked up mommy!!

Daddy did great! I can't wait to hang out with him all next week when Mommy goes back to work.

Go Vikings! Lets Win the Game!

So tonight was the season opener for the Vikings against the Cheeseheads. I was finally able to wear my jersey (courtesy of Mike and Amy)! I looked so cute. However, the NFL did not consult me on the kickoff time; it was during my crankiest time of the day. Uncle Toddy would say its because my parents dressed me in purple and made me cheer for the "Vike Queens." I'm looking forward to a Sunday game so I can be more awake. Check out the picture of me and my pops in our matching jerseys. Unfortunately the Vikings lost, but there's always next time.

Once poked, twice shy

Today was my second Dr's visit. Unlike the first one, this visit was horrible. Right when we got inside I lost my binky. Don't ask me how this happened, probably because I pull it out and throw it across the room; regardless, I lost it! So I cried the whole time. First they put this thing around my head and told me my head was 15 centimeters! Then they made me take my clothes and diaper off to be put on this weird contraption they call a scale. I weighed 11 lbs, 6 oz and am in the 95th percentile. Then they pulled out this big black thing, a ruler, and measured me from head to toe - 21 3/4 in. tall - the 75th percentile. So by this point i'm pretty upset and i'm still crying. My mom sticks this sucker in my mouth that had yummy sweet red stuff in it. So i'm sucking away, finally happy for once and then out of no where I feel this awful familiar feeling - a poke. Now for those of you who don't recall let me refresh you - I was poked 15 million times at the hospital because I had jaundice, so I know what a needle feels like. My face turned a bright red purple and I held my breath for 15 seconds hoping the pain would subside, however it did not. I screamed like a baby at the top of my lungs. They then put this gigantic bandaid on, like this is supposed make it better, well it didn't. Needless to say, my mommy picked me up and cuddled me and eventually I quit crying. I was never so happy to go back in my car seat and go home. I slept the day away but now I am partially immune to Hep B. I am dreading my 2 month visit when I have to have 3 shots!!

My Grandma Kappenman and me

Grandma Kappenman arrived tonight and just couldn't wait to get me out of my car seat to see the "whole" me. I was sleeping so I was a bit cranky; but she didn't care as I was still cute. Before we get to the stuff we did I have to give some generals on my grandma - she loves to change my diaper. I don't know about you but have you ever met someone that loved to change diapers? She loves to give me a bath too and put lotion on me.

So while Grandma K was here we did lots of stuff. Starting with Saturday, we ventured down to Englishtown to the "crap" fair as my parents call it. But first, a stop off at the local Stewarts for hamburgers and root beer floats. When we arrived at the crap fair I was hungry and never made it inside as Grandma and Dad came back saying it wasn't worth it...maybe another time. On Sunday, we traveled down to the shore to Long Branch and ate lunch at the Turning Point then walked the boardwalk. It was a beautiful day for a nap! On Monday, we hung out at home and had Casey and Scott over for a labor day BBQ. I was very cranky by night time and cried for over 2 hours! Tuesday we visited my day care center as my grandma wanted to check it out and make sure it was A-OK - her approval was given. Tuesday night was a night alone with grandma so my parents could eat dinner in what they call a "screamless" atmosphere. Of course the minute they walked in the door I was screaming for milk. Early Wednesday morning saw the departure of my grandma K who I won't see until Aunt Jessilyn's wedding. All in all it was a great visit with my grandma and I look forward to the next diaper change :)

Lawyer and Claims Adjuster by day, parents by night!!

So I visited this place called an office today; first mommy's, then daddy's. Much to my parents surprise all I did was sleep. Come on, who could stay awake when the only thing they talked about was law and insurance - BORING!! But I did get plenty of ooohhh's and aaahhh's as i'm just so cute. According to mommy's coworkers, I look just like her; according to daddy's coworkers, I look just like him. How about I look like Thad! Anyhow, I put on a good show and proved that I am really a good baby. After visiting the workplace, I was so exhausted that I slept through dinner at Chevy's and shopping at Barnes & Noble. Overall, I have decided that I want to retire early at the ripe age of 1. Much to my dismay, the parental units informed me that they will not be supporting me past college!

One O'clock, Three O'Clock, Five O'Clock, Rock!

When the clock hits 1, I wake up my parents. When the clock hits 3, I do the same. And when the clock hits 5, its time to play. Yes, its true I've been keeping my parents up this week and sleeping during the day. Now that I'm officially one month old I thought I had been too good to them to let them sleep. My parents are afraid that this has become the standard so they ordered a book today that deals with getting your baby to sleep through the night by the time the 12th week hits. We'll see about that - stayed tuned!

My cousin Ellen

Today I went to visit my cousin Ellen at her house for the first time. She lives in south Jersey and the trip is one hour and 15 minutes each way. I was sleeping when we left but low and behold about 45 minutes into the trip I woke up with this intense hunger so I let out a scream. Mommy finally pulled off of the Turnpike and fed me just enough to get me to Ellen's. I met my other cousin's too - Cooper and Dixie. Dixie was a little too excited to see me and almost stepped on me, very scary!! So Cooper and Dixie were banished to the bedroom for the day. We spent the day watching Ellen play on her mat and mommy got to socialize with Aunt Joy. Aunt Joy made dinner and then we were on our way home. I slept the whole way this time, waking up right as we pulled into the driveway. Overall it was a fun day!

People came to see me

Sunday was filled with a visit from Joy, Neil and my pal Rebecca. They came for a late lunch which I slept through. With Rebecca being almost 1 year older than me I overheard the parentals talking about how Rebecca is going to teach me all there is to know about being naughty - I think it's going to be the other way around :)

On Monday night mommy's friends, April and Sheryl came to see me, but all they wanted to talk about was law stuff and co-workers so I took a nap. Mom and dad did make a good dinner, pasta with pepperoni that I enjoyed 4 hours later. Sheryl brought me this really nice green blanket that so happened to match my outfit that day.

My first birthday party

Today I attended my first surprise birthday party for a previous co-worker of Mommy's. I was doing pretty well in the beginning until a lot of people showed up and it got very loud - I wasn't able to get back to sleep; I was a bit cranky. I had plenty of competition as there were lots of cute babies. I still think I got the most oohs and ahhs out of everyone. I can't wait until my first birthday as I discovered I love the Happy Birthday song.

My first Farmer's Market

So my mom took me to the Highland Park Farmer's Market today. We bought some veggies and got a free peach which I enjoyed with my dinner several hours later. I did pretty good in the beginning as I slept, but then I woke up so hungry that I screamed the whole way back to Joy and Neil's house where she finally fed me. Hopefully the next trip will be timed a little better so I don't get so hungry.

Rutgers Botantical Garden

We walked the botantical gardens today, it was green!! Not as exciting as my mom said it was going to be.

My first trip to the Beach

I went to Long Branch and walked the board walk. It was very exciting!! At least that is what my mom and dad said, I slept the whole time. We had Greek Food for lunch.
