Summertime in April

This weekend was packed full of fun in 90 degree heat. It all started with a trip to Striderite on Friday night where I got two new pairs of shoes; a pair of sandles and an awesome pair of sneakers (multi-colored might I add). I'm very excited about my new shoes because I can stand and balance much better than in Robeez's.

Saturday was packed full of fun. I had swimming lessons followed by my school carnival. I tried my first popcicle at the carnival and burrrggh! I've never experienced brain freeze and that did it. I also rode my first pony and mastered it. I drank out of a juice box for the first time; this was very exciting. My teacher was there to witness it so now they want me to start drinking my milk out of a straw cup; i'm not so sure about giving up the bottle just yet. However, my motto in life is I'll try anything just once. So we'll see.

Saturday afternoon I went to Gavin's first birthday party. It was so much fun but it was so hot. We stayed in the shade most of the time. We played with a pinata and crawled around with all the other kids. Gavin even blew out his candle all by himself! Having only one candle makes the odds of this extremely likely. But hey, he's only 1, give the guy some credit. I had so much fun I slept the whole way home.

That night, Ms. Latoya came and played with me so mommy and daddy could go to something called a Bachelor and Bachelorette party. I stayed up until 9:30 when I finally crashed and ended up sleeping right there on the couch. It didn't help that my room was stiffling hot! It was a rough night but I slept until 7 am.

Sunday was a lazy day filled with a few errands here and there. My parents are shopping for a gazebo for the deck. If summer is anything like today, we're going to need a lot of shade and a pool.

Visit from the Easter Bunny

This past weekend the Easter Bunny visited my living room, dining room and kitchen. He left eggs in sparadioc locations filled with puffs and cheerios. In between my kitty batting the eggs around, I was able to gather them in my fuzzy duck basket. At the end of my trial my new ride was awaiting! Mommy strapped me in and away we went throughout the house. Later in the afternoon I toured the deck in style. I have posted pictures.

As for the rest of the weekend, we were busy. I dyed eggs on Saturday morning, followed by my weekly swim lesson, a birthday party for my neighbor James, dinner at Maggianos and a trip to Target and Babies R Us to buy gates. For those of you who don't recall, I have no fear of the stairs; I'm Danger Thad! My dinner at Maggianos brought a new food - pasta with alfreado...I love this!

It was a nice weekend. This weekend Grandpa and Grandma Basner are coming to visit; should be exciting!
